Kalenderlys

Hand-dipped beeswax calendar candle (kalenderlys). This is a Danish tradition that dates back to the 1930s, when it was used as a countdown to lighting the tree on Christmas Eve. Today, it remains a treasured part of the Danish Christmas season, bringing warmth to the dark days of December.

The candle is marked with numbers 1 - 24 allowing you to burn it a little each day throughout the month. The calendar numbers have been lovingly printed in Jutland, Denmark.

A simple and traditional way to bring a touch of Danish Christmas into your home.

Use as a small daily ritual to celebrate the holidays.
